It's important that you are careful when it comes to getting sexually involved with other people. Heaps of stuff can go wrong if you don't take time to think about what you are doing and use suitable protection. Unsafe sex can lead to unplanned pregnancy or you could catch a Sexually Transmitted Disease (also known as a STD or an STI). There are lots of different STDs such as chlamydia, genital warts, herpes, gonorrhea, crabs and scabies. Some of them are caught by having sex or oral sex; others are passed on by close skin contact, (although you can't catch one from holding hands, kissing or using a toilet seat).
