The Child and Adolescent Centre is a health centre for young people and children. They provide a lot of services but the main one that relates to "Trippin" is the team of therapists who work there. The team is called a specialist mental health team, who are trained to work with children and young people. They help young people to make sense of what's going on and work with them (and sometimes their family) to put a plan together to try and sort things out.
Some of the therapists deal with lots of different problems, and others specialize in certain areas, like eating disorders, alcohol and drug problems, psychosis, or depression.
The Child and Adolescent Centre is at the Taranaki District Health Board (off Tukapa St) in New Plymouth. They also have people in Hawera and will visit most towns in Taranaki if you can't travel. You can make contact with the team yourself by calling (06) 753 7790 and asking to speak to someone from the Child & Adolescent Mental Health Team.
